Patrick Schneider
I'm a PhD Candidate in Economics at the London School of Economics.
I come from Australia, and will be on the job market in 2024.
My research is in Macroeconomics, with a recent focus on unconventional stabilisation policies like early access to retirement accounts. I work with quantitative heterogeneous agent models and detailed micro-data to get at the distributional dynamics churning underneath our aggregate statistics.
I previously worked as an economist in the Bank of England's Structural Economics Division. My work there was mainly on issues relating to UK productivity and trade, in the aftermath of the Brexit referendum.
I have taught introductory courses in the LSE Undergraduate Economics, Masters of Public Policy, and Executive Masters in Public Policy programs. Students have said of me: 'Patrick was the best economics teacher I ever had', '[he] explains the concepts extremely well', and '[he is] approachable and always open to questions'
