I am a Macroeconomist, with a recent focus on unconventional stabilisation policies like early access to retirement accounts. I work with quantitative heterogeneous agent models and detailed micro-data to analyse the distributional impacts of macro-policy. My research is at the intersection of macroeconomics, household finance and public economics.
I previously worked as an economist in the Bank of England's Structural Economics Division. My work there was mainly on issues relating to UK productivity and trade, in the aftermath of the Brexit referendum.
I have taught courses in the LSE Undergraduate Economics, Masters of Public Policy, and Executive Masters in Public Policy programs. Students have said of me: 'Patrick was the best economics teacher I ever had', '[he] explains the concepts extremely well', and '[he is] approachable and always open to questions'
